Sachin Tendulkar Scored 44th Century in ODI in Compaq Cup 2009 Final

Star Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar hit another ODI century on Monday, and thus, taking his century tally in ODI to 44. The master blaster was instrumental behind India’s 46-run victory against Sri Lanka in the Compaq Cup final.

India got a good start to their innings thanks to two openers Tendulkar and Dravid, specially the former. On his way to 138 off 133 balls, Sachin guided India to reach 319 for 5 after 50 overs. The veteran hit 10 fours and a six during his magnificent innings. During his innings, he built three crucial partnerships with Dravid, Dhoni and Yuvraj before getting out off Mendis in the 46th over of Indian innings.

Highest run scorer of ODI and Test cricket, Sachin has highest number of centuries in both test and ODI forms of the game. It has been a long time, the batsman is competing with himself. There is no one who could catch him in the near future. Overall, Sachin has 86 centuries combined in ODI and test cricket and I would not be surprised if he can reach the mark of 100 centuries in international cricket by the time he would hang up the boots.
