Yuvraj Singh is perhaps the most hard hitting batsman in Indian team. He scored fifty in 12 balls in T20 World Cup 2007 in South Africa. It shows that he is ideal for shorter version of cricket. So, his absence in Champions Trophy 2009 will surely make Indian cricket team weak. Already Shewag and Zaheer Khan are out of action because of injury. So, there is not doubt that team India will suffer some problems.

Yuvraj, who had been touted as one of the potential stars of the competition, suffered the injury whilst training today in Johannesburg. Virat Kohli has been called up as a replacement.
“Yuvraj has fractured a finger in his right hand and has been ruled out for six weeks,” a Board of Control for Cricket in India statement, said.

India is in the same group along with Pakistan, Australia and West Indies. This is the group of death. West Indies has been forced to field a very weak team because of players problem with the cricket board about money. Pakistan and Australia both are in goof form. Well, the organizers would hope that India does not go out from the first round.
