Pravin mahajan died after suffering brain haemorrhage

Pravin Mahajan, brother of senior BJP leader, Pramod Mahajan, died at a Thane hospital on March 3, 2010. Doctors said that he died due to a “combination of the haemorrhage, infections and multi-organ failure.” For the last forty eight hours, his health was continuously deteriorating. His BP was falling and he required more life support measures. His condition became critical in the afternoon and could not be revived.



Earlier, on December 11, 2009, the day when his two-week parole ended, he was rushed to the hospital after suffering a brain haemorrhage. He had been suffering from diabetes and hypertension. Doctors at Jupiter Hospital said that he had suffered extensive brain haemorrhage and had been put on life support system.



Fifty year old Pravin Mahajan, a businessman, had been serving life sentence for killing his brother, Pramod Mahajan. Pramod was shot in his house in Worli on April 22, 2006. After thirteen days of struggling in hospital, Pramod Mahajan died. Pravin surrendered to the police immediately after the incident. He was convicted of shooting and killing his brother. He was sentenced to life by a Mumbai court in December 2007. Police said that for years Pravin had built a resentment against his brother for not helping him in his financial crisis.



Pravin was convicted of shooting and killing Pramod at the latter’s home in Worli on April 22, 2006. While Pramod battled for life for 13 days in hospital, Pravin surrendered to the police immediately after the incident. He was sentenced to life by a Mumbai court in December 2007. Pravin left behind his wife, Sarangi and two college going children Kapil and Vrushali.
