Lakshmi Venu joined the board of Sundaram Clayton Limited

Lakshmi Venu, the daughter of Venu Srinivasan, joined the board of Sundaram Clayton Limited. On March 22, 2010, the board of directors of Clayton met and inducted Lakshmi Venu as an additional director. Lakshmi Venu would be in charge of strategy for the next five years. In a statement published by Sundaram Clayton Limited, the company said:

Lakshmi Venu was also deputed to work in TVS Motor, another subsidiary of Sundaram Clayton, wherein she, pursuant to an extensive in-depth induction, has been working in the areas of business strategy, corporate affairs, product design and sales and marketing,

Daughter of Venu Srinivasan, Chairman and Managing director of TVS Motors, Lakshmi Venu graduated from the Yale University and holds doctorate degree in Engineering management from the University of Warwick. Miss Venu received three years training as a management trainee in Sundaram Auto Components Limited. Her younger brother, Sudarshan Venu, is studying at the Wharton School.

Sundaram Clayton Limited is one of subsidiaries of the $4billion TVS Group. It provides aluminum die casting to automotive and non-automotive sector. The company was established in 1962. It is the only Indian company to win the prestigious Deming prize. Later Sundaram Brake Linings also won the prestigious prize.

Other members of the board of Sundaram Clayton are- Suresh Krishna (chairman of Sundram Fasteners), K Mahesh (CMD of Sundaram Brake Linings), T K Balaji (chairman of Lucas TVS), Gopal Srinivasan (CEO of TVS Capital Funds), and Venu Srinivasan.
