Schedule of India, New Zealand and Sri Lanka Compaq Tri Series 2009

A Tri-Nation ODI tournament involving Sri Lanka, New Zealand and India is going to take place from September 8 to 12 in Sri Lanka. The five-day tournament will include only 4 games. Three teams will face each other once in a round robin league system. Then the top two teams on the basis of points achieved will progress into the tournament final. All the matches will take place at the R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

All the three teams are considering it as a practice tournament for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2009 which kicks off from September 22. I think, all three teams will look to work out their problems in the tournament ahead of the Champions Trophy and they will try to fix their combination right. So, winning the tournament may not be the sole focus of the participating teams, but one thing is, for sure, that all the sides will try to win the tournament so that they can go into the Champions Trophy full of confidence.
