Vindu Dara Singh, the Indian TV and Cinema actor, became the champion of the third season of Big Boss, the reality game show. The third season, which was shown on Hindi entertainment Channel, Colors, started on October 4, 2009. Initially, there were fifteen contestants: Ismail Darbar, Sherlyn Chopra, Kamal Rashid Khan, Poonam Dhillon, Bhakhtiyaar M Irani, Tanaaz B Irani, Vindu Dara Singh, Aditi Govitrikar, Jaya Sawant, Shamita Shetty, Claudia Ciesla, Rohit Verma, Raju Srivastav, Pravesh Rana and Vinod Kambli. In the final, there are four housemates left: Poonam Dhillon, Bhakhtiyaar M Irani, Vindu Dara Singh and Pravesh Rana. Bhakhtiyaar M Irani left the house with Rs. 1 million. Rediff reports:

Viewers voted Vindu as the winner over yesteryear heartthrob Poonam Dhillon and wildcard entry and model Parvesh Rana. Both Vindoo and Poonam had spent a grueling 84 days in the Bigg Boss House, while Pravesh entered the house mid-way.
Poonam was the first to be eliminated on Saturday night among the final three, while Parvesh and Vindu were taken onstage leading to a nail-biting finish.
Vindu even won Chevrolet Cruise as the award for most stylish and bold inmate in the house. All the other participants who were evicted from the house attended the final show.
In the beginning, Vindu Dara Singh was not very much popular. His talkativeness put him into direct conflict with his fellow housemates. However, it is this attitude of his that made him very popular. He was nominated six times to go out of the show but each time people voted for him.
