Considering the potential of mobile phone market in India , Samsung has launched two Corby models: Corby Plus and Corby Pro. The prices are Rs. 10,500 and Rs. 13,900 respectively. Both these models come with QWERTY keypads. They are also ideal for Internet browsing. It is clear that the target market is the young generation as the users will be able to access Facebook, Twitter and MySpace very easily through the handsets. The price is surely not affordable to most consumers in India . In India , most people prefer to buy sub Rs. 3,000 handsets. Still, the market of touch screen phones is growing rapidly here.
Nokia is the market leader. Samsung wants to change that condition and they feel that they must target both ends of the spectrum. One thing is very interesting: iPhone is yet to become that much popular in the Indian market. One notable thing about Samsung mobile phones is that the company promotes their products aggressively.
