Hollywood actress Brittany Murphy died a tragic early death

Talented American actress and singer, Brittany Murphy, died on December 20, 2009, at the age of 32. Ed Winter, assistant chief coroner, Los Angeles County, said that the actress collapsed in the bathroom but the death was not unnatural. He also said that it would take some time to determine “an official cause of death.” The New York Times reports:

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call at 8 a.m. Sunday at the home that Ms. Murphy shared with her husband, Simon Monjack, a British screenwriter, in West Hollywood. Ms. Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 10:04 a.m. Sunday, said Sally Stewart, a spokeswoman for the hospital.

Brittany Murphy was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 10, 1977. Her mother played a big role in her acting career. Brittany Murphy started her acting career at the age of 14 by acting in a Fox TV series, Drexell's Class which was aired in between 1991 and 1992. Her other major TV series include- Sister, Sister; Party of Five; and Boy Meets World.

Brittany Murphy acted in many successful movies including Clueless (1995); Girl, Interrupted (1999); Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999); Don't Say a Word (2001); The Devil's Arithmetic (2001); 8 Mile (2002) and Uptown Girls (2003). In June 2006, Murphy teamed up with dance musician, Paul Oakenfold and released “Faster Kill Pussycat” which became a club hit and number one on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play chart.
