Sony Pictures Television International’s MAX channel formed an alliance with Sun Direct. Under this alliance, both the channels will telecast IPL matches in High Definintion (HD) on the platform of Sun Direct. Sony Entertainment Network’s CEO, Man Jit Singh, told reporters that IPL cricket matches on HD broadcast will give cricket lovers a unique and new world class experience. According to Tony D Silva, COO, Sun Direct, HDTV would provide five time better experience over a normal television. HDTV is considered to be one of the world’s best digital broadcast platforms.
Lalit Modi, Chairman and Commissioner of IPL had been very happy with the alliance. He said that the high-octane action of IPL 2010 will set a new broadcast benchmark for the industry. Now, worldwide fans of cricket can enjoy the game one a wide range of platform.
