Amway India, the leading company in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector in India has a big reason to celebrate as its Nutrilite became the most popular brand in vitamins and dietary supplements in the Indian market. Recently, the sales mark of Nutrilite crossed Rs.7.5 billion, making it the highest selling vitamins and dietary supplements brand in the country. William S Pinckney, CEO and MD, Amway India, said that they had been excited about the response Nutrilite received from consumers and hope to see a 25% growth for the brand over the next few years.
In February 2010, Amway India asked to reduce import duties on raw materials for producing goods to India to Pranab Mukherjee, the current Finance Minister of India. Amway vice-president, east, Diptarag Bhattacharjee, also approached the government to map out a “Direct Selling Regulatory Act” as “fly-by-night” FMCG operators were destroying the reputation of the FMCG sector.

Amway India, has a 35% market share in India. In 2009, the company registered a turnover of Rs 14.07 billion. Compared to the figure of 2008, it was a 25% increase. In 2009, Amway India tripled its production capacity at its leading vendor facility located at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. Currently, Amway India is one of the top FMCG brand in India.
