Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal, was set in 1990. Named after Makhanlal Chaturvedi, a renowned freedom fighter, poet and journalist, the university was formally inaugurated on January 16, 1991, by the then Vice President of India, Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma.
