Time & Venue of Chelsea vs Manchester United: 8 November 2009

Chelsea and Manchester United are going to face each other today in a significant match of the premier league this season. Chelsea stands top in the point table with 27 points from 11 games, while Manchester United is 2 points adrift of the Blues in the third place. However, a victory in today’s afternoon clash could see Manchester United move up to the top place with a point of advantage over Chelsea. On the other hand, Chelsea is looking to create a 5-point advantage over Manchester United by winning today’s encounter at home.

Date and Time

I have already mentioned that the game will be held today (8 April 2009), Sunday. This is a match many football fans are waiting for. The timing of the match is also pretty much congenial for English as well as Asian fans. Here, I am giving the timing of the game according to different regions:

GMT: 16:00pm

India: 21:30pm

Bangladesh: 23:00pm

Dubai: 20:00pm

New York: 11:00am

China: 12:00 (night)

Venue

The match will take place at Stamford Bridge, the home ground of Chelsea. The stadium is situated in West London. Nicknamed ‘The Bridge’, the stadium can accommodate 42,055 fans, seventh largest among the premier league stadiums, but smallest among the big four clubs (Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool).

Chelsea has a very good home record in the recent years. For example, they have scored 15 goals in 5 home games so far this season in premier league, while conceded only one. Since Carlo Ancelotti took over as Chelsea manager, they did not lose any game at home. Moreover, Chelsea did not lose any game to Manchester United at Stamford Bridge since 2002. Overall, Stamford Bridge has become a very strong fortress for Chelsea and it seems that the Blues will be looking to capitalize on their home advantage today while facing the defending champions.
