Arsenal Striker Robin van Persie Out of Action for 6 Weeks

I can still remember that Arsenal narrowly missed out on the title win in premier league during 2007-08, even though the Gunners were leading in the table after half of the season. The problem was that Gunners lost their momentum with a number of key players being injured for some period of time after Christmas and that resulted into their failure to win the title. Arsenal was just 4 points off champions Manchester United that season.

So far, Arsenal has been in excellent form in premier league this season, but that injury fear has struck once again in the North London club. Influential striker Robin van Persie will be now out of action for at least 6 weeks as the Dutch international sustained an ankle injury whilst on international duty with Netherlands national team recently. He has scored 8 goals in his 15 appearances in all competitions so far this season. Naturally, it is a big loss for the Gunners who has matches against Chelsea and Liverpool before Christmas and it is pretty much certain that Robin van Persie will miss both the games and would not be able to return in action until new year.
