New Zealand Wins the 1st Test against Pakistan

New Zealand pulled off a dramatic victory over Pakistan in the first test of the ongoing three-match test series. Pakistan was given a winning target of 251 runs, but Pakistan got all out for 218 with Kiwi bowlers giving no room to the visiting side.

The current test series is talking place in New Zealand, but Pakistan holds home series status. Pakistan did not have much success in the longer version of the game this year and it seems that they are going to lose this series too.

Pakistan was on top when they bowled out New Zealand only for 153 runs in the second innings, but Pakistani batsmen, except Umar Akmal, failed to show any resistance against the New Zealand bowlers. After picking up 5 wickets in the first innings, Shane Bond got 3 wickets in the second innings too. Pacer Ian O’Brien also picked up 3 wickets to help New Zealand clinch a 32-run victory in the first test.

Shane Bond was awarded the man of the match award for his 8 wickets in the match. The second test starts from December 3 at Wellington.
