Champions League T20 2009: A Distraction to International Cricket?

Champions League T20 is going to start from tomorrow. It is taking place in India. It is a club based competition and 12 clubs of 7 countries are taking part in it and 3 of them are from India. I am not happy with this event because it is taking place at the expense of international cricket. It is taking place only because BCCI officials want to earn more money from Indian market. Only last week, India got out of the first round from Champions Trophy 2009 which was an ICC organized event and in terms of prestige, it is next World Cup Cricket. Indian players perhaps did not feel too much unhappy with the early exit because they could get some important rest ahead of this T20 event. Anyway, if you want to know about TV coverage of Champions League T20 2009 then you should visit this entry: Champions League Twenty20 2009 Live in Which TV Channels?
This is the tragedy of International cricket today. BCCI is trying to make room for IPL and Champions League in international cricket calendar. It is getting support from the leading players of every country because the players earn a lot of money from these two events.
