Chelsea vs Arsenal Preview and Live Score: 7 February 2010

Chelsea is going to host Arsenal in a Premier League match tomorrow 7 February 2010. The venue of the match is Stamford Bridge and it will start at 1600 GMT. Both the two clubs come from London and there is a rivalry between them. In the past, Arsenal was always better team than Chelsea but now in the last five years, Chelsea has been in superb form. In fact, Chelsea is a strong favorite to win the title this time and they are also the hot favorite in tomorrow’s match to win.

Right now, the difference in points in league table between two clubs is six points. However, if Chelsea can win then they will be ahead of Arsenal by 9 points. On the other hand, if Arsenal can win the match then the point difference will be minimized to just 3. If it is a draw then there will be no change in the point difference but then Manchester United will be happy. Manchester United supporters are praying that Arsenal can win the match because Manchester United can go on top of the league table.

The recent performance of none of the clubs is that good. In the mid-week, Chelsea could only manage a draw and on the other hand, Arsenal lost last Sunday to Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium by 1-3. Still Chelsea is a favorite to win because in Stamford Bridge Chelsea is in superb form for many months. In fact, it was more than one years ago that Chelsea is unbeaten and 30 November 2008, Arsenal was the last team to win in this venue in Premier League. So, it is to be seen whether Arsenal again create history by ending their long unbeaten record.

In this season, Arsenal is still the team with highest number of goals. Their scoring record is good but they have done very badly against top oppositions. Arsenal has already lost to Manchester United in home and away and also to Manchester City in away and also lost against Chelsea in November at the Emirates Stadium. Thus, Arsenal is struggling against big oppositions. They still have to suffer from injury problems. Many of their leading players are out of action because of injury. Some players like Walcott and Bendtner have just come back from injury but they are still not in good shape.

The good news for Chelsea is that they do not have that many injuries worries. The only important player who is injured at that moment is Michael Essien. For Chelsea, Didier Drogba is in superb form and he has scored many goals in the league this season. Their top player, Frank Lampard is also in good form. So, it will be a quite a challenge for Arsenal defense to stop these two important players. Also, Chelsea’s player John Terry is in under controversy and he lost England captaincy. A lot of attention is now on him. He will play in tomorrow’s match against Arsenal and many people will take a close look on his performance.

Arsenal is seriously struggling on the striking part. The absence of Robin van Persie could not be compensated yet. Eduardo is also injured and most probably he will not play tomorrow. So, it is up to Arshavin and Bendtner. Anyway, the key to Arsenal is Fabregas. If Fabregas can shine then anything can happen in the match. There is perhaps some cause of worry about the form of Arshavin. Arshavin is still playing well but he is not getting goals.

In the last match, against Manchester United, Arsenal defense looked very week. The defense has to play as a unit and they must try to overcome their problem.

About the match, Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger said, "My team wanted it so much that sometimes you can be a little bit restricted and our target is to get that freedom to play against Chelsea.

I am convinced that we are capable to win everywhere in the world, but of course we need to turn up with a good performance.

I believe we should be more relaxed at this time because at the start of the season nobody expected us in the top four or in the title race.

Now, instead of being intimidated, I believe we have to really have a go because we are entitled to have it."
