The seven venues for the 7-match ODI series between India and Australia were declared by the Tournament and Fixture Committee of BCCI recently. The ODI series will take place between October 25 and November 11 after the ICC Champions Trophy which is scheduled to take place in South Africa in September.
The seven venues are: Guwahati, Mumbai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Mohali and Nagpur. Dates have also been finalized as the seven matches will take place on Oct 25, Oct 28, Oct 31, Nov 2, Nov 5, Nov 8 and Nov 11, though the dates of the venues are yet to be finalized.
Australia’s last visit to India came in 2008 when the visitors were beaten by the Indians 2-0 in the three-match test series. That series was the last for two Indian legends Anil Kumble and Sourav Ganguly who retired from international cricket following the series. India is always a threat for the opposition team while playing on home ground. Moreover, Australia has not been in good form recently following a series of retirements of some of their great players over the last few years. So, it seems that cricket fans are going to have an interesting series between India and Australia in October-November 2009.
