Time and Venue of India vs Sri Lanka 5th ODI 2009

Fate of the five-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka has already been decided but its excitement has not finished yet. Fans of both teams are still searching on net to know about the fifth ODI match. You know that Indian cricket team has already won the ODI series by 3-1. So, fifth ODI match will not bring any change in the result. However, touring side Sri Lanka should want to reduce their gape and finish the series by 3-2. Indian players are confident about their victory. This is the last bilateral ODI match between India and Sri Lanka in 2009.

Cricket crazy people are curious about the fifth ODI match. They want to know that what will happen in this match. Even people want to know about the time and venue of this match. This match will be played on 27th December 2009. It is scheduled to start at 03:30 GMT (09:00 local). This final match will take place at the Feroz Shah Kotla. It is the home ground in Delhi. Feroz Shah Kotla is batting friendly pitch. But I think that both teams will have to depend on toss win.

Fans are also waiting to see that who will win the match. What do you think who can win the match?

India vs Sri Lanka 5th ODI 2009: Preview and Live Score

Just one day after Indian cricket team will meet India to play the official 5th ODI match on 27th December 2009. This unimportant match will take place at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Though this match does not have much importance to the cricket fans but many fans will see it live. Home team India has already won the series. Thanks to Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli’s century in the 4th ODI match against Sri Lanka in Kolkata, they could ensure their victory with one match left to be played. India is leading the series by 3-1. Sri Lanka will try to reduce their gap after winning the dead rubber match.

I have seen many people to search on net to know the match start time. This match will kick off at 03:30 GMT (09:00 local time). You already know that it will be a day light game. It is the last ODI match for both India and Sri Lanka this year. After the end of ODI series both teams will tour Bangladesh to play a tri-nation tournament.

Fourth ODI match was a big chance for Sri Lankan cricket team to make their come back in the series. But they failed it. Sri Lanka chose to bat first after winning the toss. They scored 315 runs which was really big chasing score for Indian team. However, Indian batsmen successfully chase it. Two major players M S Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh were not included in the Indian squad. Even in form players like Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendular got early dismissed. But Sri Lankan bowlers could not make take the control of the match. It was an exciting and competitive match from first to last. India could reach the target with 11 balls remaining at hand. Gautam Gambhir scored unbeaten 150 and Virat Kohli scored 107. Later he was got out by S Randiv.

The good news is that M S Dhoni has returned in the Indian squad from two match suspension. His return will inspire Indian cricket team to play much better and finish 2009 with a victory. Until M S Dhoni has returned to the Indian cricket team, Virender Sehwag gave lead the national side successfully. He has proved that he is not only a good batsman but also good captain who has ability to lead his team.

What will happen to Dinesh Karthik? He replaced suspended player M S Dhoni for the last two ODI matches. Now, it has become sure that Dhoni will play in the fifth ODI match and Karthik will also stay in this squad. It is very exciting game for Indian openers. Delhi is the home ground for both Gambhir and Sehwag. They will be on fire in front of the home crowd. India’s most experienced batsman Sachin Tendulkar may take rest from Delhi ODI match. Dinesh Karthik will fill up this gap.

Both teams should think about the condition of pitch. According to curator, Feroz Shah Kotla will be batting friendly pitch. The total of 280 runs can be winning score for any team. Toss win can play a big role for tomorrow’s match.

TheSportsCampus reported:

The curator of Feroz Shah Kotla wicket for the final ODI between India and Sri Lanka has promised a sporting wicket, with a score of 280 plus expected to be a winning total. The ground owned by the Delhi District Cricket Association last hosted an ODI on October 30, 2009 when India beat Australia in a low scoring affair. The curator had come in a for a lot of flak last time around owing to the slow and sluggish nature of the track but if he is to believed it'll be a far better pitch this time around with something in it for everyone. The team that wins the toss would surely look to put the opposition in and make full use of the assistance provided by the pitch early on owing to a 9 o'clock start.

This match will be shown live on NEO Cricket. You can get live score from various websites. I have given some websites name in below-

India vs Sri Lanka 4th ODI 2009: Preview and Live Score

The absence of two big players in Indian cricket team will encourage Sri Lanka to perform well and make their come back in the ODI series. Indian regular captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is out of the ODI tournament for his two match ban due to slow over rate. He can take part in the final ODI match against Sri Lanka. Replaced player Dinesh Karthik could fill the absence of MS Dhoni in a very good way. However, hard hitter batsman Yuvraj Singh has been left out because of his finger injury. This matter will give some relief to Sri Lanka team. New skipper Virender Sehwag could successfully lead India team and snatched a victory in the 3rd ODI.

With the hope of winning the series one match at hand, India will take on Sri Lanka in the 4th ODI match. This match will take place at the Eden Garden in Kolkata. Fourth ODI match can become a series deciding match for both teams. Sri Lanka has not won any series yet in Indian soil. This is the perfect year for touring side Sri Lanka to make a record in Indian soil. Their ODI series victory can be a farewell for spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan. You may know that it is the last tour series for Muttiah Muralitharan. You know that he is injured and he can not play. It is up to the other players to bring this happy memory for him.

India is leading the 5-match ODI series 2-1. Fourth ODI match is going to be much competitive game between these two teams. Millions of fans will be watching to see that if Sri Lanka can snatch the victory to make the series level. This match will kick off at 09:00 GMT (14:30 GMT). In the first two matches of this ODI series, we saw top scoring game where batsmen ruled the matches. After that we saw bowlers took the control of the pitch in the 3rd ODI match. I think we can see the same thing in the 4th ODI match. Eden Garden is bowling friendly pitch. Especially spinners will get benefit in this venue.

At the beginning of this entry, I have told you that India will be under huge pressure after losing two potential batsmen for the 4th ODI match against Sri Lanka. However, master blaster batsman Sachin Tendulkar has got back his form. He scored unbeaten 96 in the 3rd ODI match. Virender Sehwag is enough to make a fierce start in the opening stand. Virat Kohli is the probable player who can replace Yuvraj Singh. It is expected that he will play a potential role in the in the middle order position. On the other hand, Sri Lanka will hope to make a good start in the opening stand. They will depend on Tillakaratne Dilshan. His aggressive batting style can change the match result. He is now in good form. Dilshan scored two consecutive centuries in the first two ODI matches against India. So, he will get much importance in the 4th ODI match. However, I think that another opener Upul Tharanga can help his team to stay in the crease passionately and make a big partnership with others. Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara is in formidable form. Who do you think can win the match?

Fans are also curious to know the squad of both teams. We can see some big change in the Indian squad. I have given the probable squad of both teams that can be used in the 4th ODI match.

Indian Squad: Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Dinesh Karthik, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra.

Sri Lankan Squad: Tillakaratne Dilshan, Upul Tharanga, Kumar Sangakkara (WK & C), Mahela Jayawardene, Sanath Jayasuriya, Thilina Kandamby, Randiv, Lasith Malinga, Ajantha Mendis, Nuwan Kulasekara, Welededara.

Who will be the player to watch? I think that the main fight will be held between two opening batsman Virender Sehwag and Tillakaratne Dilshan. Let us see who can perform well.

This match will be shown live on NEO Cricket. However, many websites will also give live score and I am giving names of some of them in below-

I hope you will enjoy this match live on TV or various websites.

Who will win in 4th ODI 2009 Between India and Sri Lanka?

The 4th ODI is going to take place tomorrow at the Eden Garden Stadium of Kolkata. This is the largest stadium in India and it has a seating capacity of nearly 90,000. In an ODI match involving Indian cricket team, normally the stadium is full. So, tomorrow, you can expect a full house crowd too. Well, this can put pressure on Indian players tomorrow. Secondly, Indian bowlers are out of perform. I don’t blame them because first of all Sri Lankan top order batsmen are in good form. Secondly, Indian pitch is always good for batting.
Well, in the ODI series, Sri Lanka was very unlucky to lose the first match by just 3 runs. If they did not lose that match then they would have now lead by 2-1 instead of India. I cannot undermine the Indian team’s possibility because they are playing well too. Their batsmen are in sublime touch.
So, again, I think that the match will be decided by the batsmen. For Sri Lankan fans, semi final match of 1996 World Cup Cricket should bring some cheerful memory. In this stadium, in front of more than 90,000 spectators, India lost to Sri Lanka

Time and Venue of India vs Sri Lanka 4th ODI 2009

Indian cricket team will face Sri Lanka on 24th December 2009 to get ODI series victory with one match in hand. Winning the 3rd ODI match by 7 wickets and 45 balls remaining at hand, host team India has taken the control of ODI series. Now, they are leading the 5-match ODI series by 2-1. India needs one more victory to seal the series. Sri Lanka has no option except winning if they want to stay in the competition. The fourth ODI match will take place at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Injury is a major problem for Indian cricket team. Their hard hitting batsman Yuvraj Singh has been ruled out because of finger injury. He sustained this injury during the 2nd T20 match in Mohali. We can not see him playing in the 4th ODI match. No doubt, his absence will create a big void in the squad. Who will replace him? Rohit Sharma is the probable batsman who can replace him.

The 4th ODI match will start at 09:00 GMT (14:30 local time). It is another day-night game. I hope you will enjoy it live on NEO Cricket.

After a long time any ODI match is going to be held at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. It is one of the oldest venues in India. It was established in 1864. This venues has 90,000 sitting capacity. This venue is considered as lucky ground for host team India. They stopped Australia’s 17th straight Test win in 2001. Spin bowlers will get some benefit in this venue.

India vs Sri Lanka 4th ODI 2009: Live in NEO Sports and Other TV Channels

Winning the 3rd ODI match against Sri Lanka, India has taken a 2-1 lead of the 5-match ODI series. Now, they will take on Sri Lanka in the 4th ODI match in Kolkata with the hope of winning the series with one match left at hand. On the other hand, touring side Sri Lanka will try their best to make the series level. Fourth ODI match between India and Sri Lanka will kick off at 24th December 2009. This match will be played at the Eden Gardens. In the 3rd ODI match, we saw India’s hard hitter batsman Virender Sehwag to lead his team. Under his guidance, India got a victory. May be his fans expect that he will give India a momentum.

India defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets and 45 balls remaining at hand. India’s most prolific batsman Sachin Tendulkar could not score a century. But he finished the game on an unbeaten 96. Sri Lanka won the toss and selected to bat first. They got all out for 239. After coming to chase Sri Lanka’s innings, India reached the milestone in 42.3 overs. Indian spin bowler Ravindra Jadeja became player of the match for his superb bowling.

Fourth ODI match is an important match for Sri Lanka team. It will decide the series for both teams. They should look for a victory to remain their hope of winning the ODI series in Indian soil. If they can win any ODI series in India then it will be a record. This match will start from 09:00 GMT (14:30 local time). I hope you want to see this game live on TV. Time and Preview India vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI 2009

If you are an Indian cricket supporter then may be tonight you are some worried. Sri Lanka won the second ODI and the score is 1-1 level. The third ODI will take place tomorrow 21 December 2009 and Barabati Stadium, Cuttack is the venue. NEO will show the match live and I am sure that millions of people in India will watch it happily. In the first two matches of ODI series, there has been huge amount of runs. In the first match, both the teams scored more than 400 runs. In the second ODI, both of the scored more than 300 runs. So, tomorrow, we are expecting to get huge another run festival for the crowd.
You ca find a very good analysis of the match in the following entry:
Both the teams are suffering injuries. India is out without 3 realiabl players including Dhoni. However, Dhoni is not injured but banned f the match. So, it will be interesting battle to see how Indian team can manage without their captain tomorrow. Dhoni scored a century in the 2nd match.

Time and Venue of India vs Sri Lanka 2nd ODI 2009

India vs Sri Lanka 2nd ODI match is going to take place on 18 December 2009 and the starting time is  14:30 Indian Time (09:00 GMT). It is a Friday and still, I am expecting a full house crowd because it is a day night match.
Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium is the venue of the match. It has seating capacity of 45,000. As I said earlier, all the seats will be filled by the fans. It is considered to be one of the best stadiums for its facilities and in World Cup Cricket 2011, 4 matches are supposed to take place here. So, tomorrow, we will get a glimpse of the stadium.
Well, according to Cricinfo, it is going to be batting friendly.
Bad news for the bowlers. The last thing that they want in this series now is another batting friendly pitch.

India vs Sri Lanka 2nd ODI 2009: Who Will Win?

India vs Sri Lanka ODI 2009 match will take place on 18 December 2009. Thus, we have one day and some more hours left. In the first ODI, it was like an epic battle in cricket as more than 800 runs were scored in a single day. It was a day of hard hitting batsmen. I watched the match in TV and I have to say that Sri Lanka was very unlucky in the end to lose it with such a low margin. Until the last over, they were well on course to win it. The funny thing is that in the end, Harbhajan Singh made all the difference in the end in a batsman pitch.
Now, in the second ODI, I think that Sri Lanka has a better chance. Their batting line up is perhaps some better at this moment. Tillakaratne Dilshan is in consistent and superb form recently. Of course, they are suffering from some major injuries in their bowling department.
On the other hand, India is playing their home soil but their bowling is no that good in the recent series. That is why, I think that Sri Lanka has a better chance of winning the mach. Do you agree with me?

India vs Sri Lanka 2nd ODI 2009 without Muttiah Muralitharan and Dilhara Fernando

This is a very big blow for Sri Lanka team. Muralitharan is the best sinner in the world now and Fernando is a quality fast bowler. So, without the, Sri Lanka wil suffer a lot in the second ODI that is going to take place on 18 December 2009. In the first ODI, India won by just 3 runs and India is leading 1-0 in the 5 ODI series. So, Sri Lanka must win the second match and get some confident. In the test series, they suffered humiliating defeat and eve they could not win the T20 series. So, this is the last chance for them to salvage some pride.

Time and Venue of India vs Sri Lanka 2nd T20 2009

Following a 2-0 victory in the test series, India suffered a setback in the first twenty20 international against Sri Lanka. The visiting side comfortably defeated India by 29 runs, and thus, making the second twenty20 a must-win game for India. After some poor performance in the test series, Sri Lanka needed a victory like this to boost up their confidence level and they did it quite comfortably. In all three departments, Sri Lanka was on top in Wednesday’s twenty20 match at Nagpur.

India has just climbed to the no. 1 position in test ranking, but they did not look like a no. 1 team in the first twenty20 international. I know India is without their two best bowlers Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh, but still a no. 1 team must have much more squad strength that India showed in the first game. Zaheer and Harbhajan could have missed the T20 series through injury too. Moreover, Indian middle order also looked very shaky and they failed to capitalize on the good start given by the two openers Gambhir and Sehwag. More frustrating was their fielding as they dropped four catches and missed a run out chances. That means Indian fielders lost at least one wicket-taking chance in every 4 overs in the game. I do not think that this should be the characteristics of a no. 1 team.

Anyway, the second match is coming up and India must show their characters if they really want to save the series. The second match would be another chance for team India to show that they have the quality and talent to become the no. 1 team. On the other hand, Sri Lanka, who was devastated after the test series, has now found some ground and they look determined to win the series in an effort to salvage some pride ahead of the ODI series. So, Sri Lanka would also go all out in the match to win the series. As a result, you can expect a highly entertaining second twenty20 match. Now, here I am giving you the information regarding time and venue of the second twenty20 international:

Time and Venue

The second twenty20 international of the series would take place at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh. Mohali is one of the best cricket grounds in India. Initially, unlike many other Indian wickets, Mohali wickets were not dead pitches; rather they produced results, but the condition has been changed later on. Now-a-days, teams produce big totals on this ground and it helped the batsmen a lot.

Date: 12 December 2009

Venue: Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh

Time: 17:30 local time; GMT 12:00;

However, as the match starts at 17:30 local time (GMT 12:00), it means dew factor could come into effect as frost generally happens in December and January in Mohali. From this point of view, it seems that pacers could get some assistance in the second innings, while spinners in the second innings could face some gripping problems. Overall, I think, it would not be a very high-scoring game and 160-170 would be fighting total.

India vs Sri Lanka 2nd T20 2009: Online Live Score

The second twenty20 international between India and Sri Lanka is going to be held at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh on 12 December 2009. For team India, who have just moved to the no. 1 position in ICC test ranking, it is a very important game as they have already lost the first match of the series. That means India must win the second game in Mohali to save the T20 sereis. Sri Lanka may have lost the ODI series, but they made a strong come back in the first twenty20 international. So, they would also like to continue the momentum they got in the first game. So, we can expect a highly entertaining twenty20 affair on Sunday.

Muttiah Muralitharan is hopeful of winning the second test 2009 against India

Muttiah Muralitharan is the highest test wicket taker in the world and the way he is playing for last few years, many people are hopeful that he can someday get 1000 wickets. Since he is the highest wicket taker, the more wickets he adds he is just improving his own personal world record. Anyway, in the first test, he failed to get any wicket because the pitch was very flat and it was not ideal for bowlers. This has made him very sad and now Muttiah Muralitharan is hoping that he can get some wickets. He is going to work very hard in the second test and Sri Lankan players are hoping that it can be a different thing for them. Muttiah Muralitharan could never do well in Indian soil because Indian batsmen are very good in playing against spin. May be this time it will be a different thing and may be Muttiah Muralitharan can do the thing that Shane Warne failed.

Anyway, this series is important for a particular reason. If India can win the test series by at least 2-0 then in ICC test ranking, Dhoni’s team will overtake Sri Lanka and South Africa and become the number one team. On the other hand, if Sri Lanka just wins the series then they themselves will emerge as the leader in test ranking.

India vs Sri Lanka Test Series 2009: Indian Squad

Indian squad for the first two tests of the 3-match test series against Sri Lanka has been announced. There are 15 players in the squad including an extra batsman in M Vijay who debuted for India during home series against Australia last year. However, the selection has raised some questions.

If you want to get live score of India vs Sri Lanka 1st Test match then visit the link- India vs Sri Lanka 1st Test 2009: Live Action Updates.

First of all, selectors include 14 players for a home series, but Indian selectors decided to include 15 players including 9 batsmen and it is quite unusual because in no condition India can play more than 7 batsmen in a test match. In fact, playing 6 batsmen would be ideal. So, the inclusion of two extra batsmen in uncapped S Badrinath and M Vijay is not justifiable as both of them have hardly any chance to make it to the final eleven for the either of the first two test matches. Moreover, they will miss Ranji Trophy match, even though they do not need to stay with the Indian team.

Secondly, India named three spinners: Harbhajan Singh, Amit Mishra and uncapped Pragyan Ojha who toured Sri Lanka last year, but did not play any test match as Harbhajan and Kumble were filling in the spinners’ slots. I am not surprised to see three spinners in the squad because Indian wickets traditionally help spinners. What surprised me is that selectors pricked up only three pacers: Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma and Sreesanth in the squad, even though India very often plays 3 pacers in the final eleven. That means India has no back up pacers, if the team decides to play 3 pacers. In stead of including 9 batsmen, selectors should have named an extra pacer.

Moreover, I do not see any reason for Munaf Patel losing his place in the test squad, despite having a very good test form. His recent form in longer versions of the game in domestic cricket has been excellent, and there is no justification of excluding someone on the basis of his limited over form. If it is so, then Ishant Sharma should have been excluded too. Furthermore, Zaheer Khan has just come back from injury, while you can not rely on Sreesanth who has returned to Indian squad after 19 months. I think, Munaf Patel should have been included in stead of S Badrinath in the squad.

Here, I am giving the Indian squad for the first two test matches against Sri Lanka from Reuters:

Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Vangipurappu Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Captain), Harbhajan Singh, Amit Mishra, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Murali Vijay, Pragyan Ojha, Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, Subramaniam Badrinath.

India vs Sri Lanka 2009 ODI, Test & T20 Series Schedule

Sri Lanka is going to visit India on a full-fledged series comprising of 3 tests, 2 Twenty20 internationals and 5 ODI matches. Sri Lanka’s tour of India begins on 11 November with the three-day practice match against India Board President XI. Test series starting from 16 November comes after that, followed by Twenty20 internationals and ODI series. The two neighboring cricket playing countries will be looking to dominate against each other as both sides had considerable amount of success in international stage over the last few months. So, cricket fans can expect a highly exciting cricket series between India and Sri Lanka.

The fact is that the performance of both Sri Lanka and India over the last few months has been mixed. Sri Lanka failed to win the Compaq Cup at home and then could not make it to the semi final of ICC Champions Trophy 2009. However, the Sri Lankans were the losing finalists of this year’s ICC World Twenty20 and they defeated Pakistan twice in ODI series in 2009, first in Pakistan and then at home. However, the Sri Lankan team looked helpless in their 4-1 ODI series defeat at the hands of visiting Indian team this year.

Well, Indian team would look to build on their recent success over Sri Lanka. In fact, India also won last year’s ODI series in Sri Lanka. Moreover, India did not lose any bilateral ODI series in the recent past. They first defeated England at home at the end of the last year and then successfully won the ODI series in New Zealand before winning the Sri Lanka series comprehensively. India then clinched the ODI series in West Indies just before the Champions Trophy. Naturally, Indian team is expected to be full of confidence before taking on the Sri Lankan side in the ODI series. However, India’s performance in Champions Trophy 2009 and ICC World Twenty20 was frustrating as they failed to reach the semi final in the both the tournaments.

India may have won back to back ODI series over Sri Lanka in the last one year, but Sri Lanka won last year’s test series at home over India with mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis appearing as a threat for Indian batsmen who are traditionally good at spin bowling. No doubt, Mendis would play a key part in the upcoming tour too. He could be a dangerous weapon on Sri Lankan camp, given that Indian wickets help the spinners. Veteran spinner Muttiah Muralitharan also poses a threat for the Indian batsmen who did not show enough resistance over the Sri Lankan spinner in the test series last year. However, you should note that last time Sri Lanka played test series in India was in 2005 when India emerged winner 2-0 in the three match series. So, Sri Lankan players must be prepared for some tough challenge from the home side in the test series. Moreover, India’s recent performance in test cricket is pretty much satisfactory and it would boost up their confidence level ahead of the test series. India won the test series against Australia last year and then clinched the test series on New Zealand soil after many years. However, Indian batsmen must know the fact that India would face a huge challenge from the Sri Lankan spinners.

Overall, Sri Lanka’s tour of India seems to offer lots of exciting actions for the cricket lovers who always enjoy excitement during the matches; be it twenty20 or test match. Test cricket is currently facing a threat from the twenty20 format of the game in terms of popularity. No doubt, Indian cricket fans always love cricket and they have a huge fan base. Still, crowd turn out in the test series may not be very satisfactory, given the decreasing popularity of this version of the game. It may not be a major worry of concern for the TV channels and the organizers as the tour includes two Twenty20 matches as well as a three-match test series. So, TV channel and organizers can make some quick cash in through the twenty20 and ODI series in what could be a compensation for the test series.
